Assistant Football Coach / Assistant Sport Performance Coach

The Assistant Football / Assistant Sport Performance Coach is responsible for assisting both the head football coach and the director of sport performance with various responsibilities. This 10 month benefits eligible position, holds a dual role within the department of athletics.

Candidates must embrace the dual role of coaching football and assisting and facilitating the training of all varsity sports within the athletic department. The Assistant Football / Assistant Sport Performance Coach must comply with all MIT, NCAA and NEWMAC established rules and regulations.

The ideal candidate should have 1-3 years of collegiate football coaching experience and experience with coaching strength and conditioning. Bachelorís degree required, masters preferred. USA Weight Lifting or NSCA certification strongly preferred.
Qualifications & Requirements

1-3 years coaching experience preferably at the college/university level. A Bachelor's degree is required preferably in a field related to physical education or proven instructional experience. Masterís degree is preferred. Sport specific certification is recommended if appropriate. Proven experience in recruiting to a highly selective institution is desirable. Strong administrative and interpersonal/communication skills and computer skills are essential. Appropriate certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED, and Biohazards are required within 30 days of hire. The successful candidate will be required to pass the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) exam if they enter with an alternate certification. Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a background check.
