The Department of Education and Human Development at the State University of New York College at Brockport is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of English Education position in our inclusive education program.

Responsibilities
• Teach a 3-3 load in undergraduate and graduate courses in secondary/adolescence Inclusive English Education.
• Engage in scholarship.
• Participate in service activities, serve on department/campus-wide committees.
• Work collaboratively with department faculty in dual certification programs.
• Supervise candidates in field experience and student teaching placements.
• Use technology in teaching, including online instruction.
• Participate in program implementation and support program assessment for CAEP accreditation.
• Advise teacher candidates.
• Collaborate with public school personnel.
• Demonstrate continuous professional development.
• Work with diverse students to prepare culturally competent teachers.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required Qualifications
Terminal degree in Adolescence English Education or appropriate field from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting institution or ABD (ABD candidates must earn their doctorate within 6 months of appointment); demonstrated successful teaching experience at the middle or high school level; evidence of successful scholarship; demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and/or graduate adolescence English education courses; demonstrated ability to work with socially, culturally, and linguistically diverse populations to prepare culturally competent teachers; and, demonstrated ability to use technology to support teaching and learning.

Preferred Qualifications
Successful college teaching experience; teacher certification in English or English Language Arts; experience in field-based teacher education; evidence of collaborative teaching and planning; experience in teaching online; experience in urban education; evidence of successful scholarship beyond the dissertation; evidence of teaching approaches including equity, social justice, and diversity; experience in seeking external funding; background in additional areas of expertise that support graduate and undergraduate programs of the department; demonstrated familiarity with NCTE/CAEP standards; and, successful experience working in an inclusive setting
