A national patent boutique is actively seeking a contract attorney with a biotechnology, food science, or pharmaceutical background to join their team on a long-term contract basis. The current workload is projected to be 10+ hours a week, with possibility of an hours increase. The firm is a distinguished boutique law firm, providing comprehensive counseling to clients as they develop, register, enforce, and defend their intellectual property rights globally. They represent a diverse clientele, including public and private companies, as well as artists and celebrities. Their private clients are typically backed by tier-one venture capitalists, and the firm excels at building global IP portfolios that facilitate capital raises, mergers and acquisitions, or other exit strategies. Ideal candidates will have received extensive training from large law firms, demonstrating strong organizational skills, efficiency, creativity in problem-solving, and a commitment to maintaining a drama-free work environment with a positive attitude. The successful candidate will have expertise in biotechnology, food science, or pharmaceutical expertise, and will handle patent prosecution on an as needed basis (currently estimated to be 10 hours a week). The attorney will be featured on marketing materials, client pitches, and in other ways to increase the visibility of the firm with clients. The position is fully remote!
