Two Education Doctoral Chosen for AERA Dialogic Forum
(full story below)
The Division A (Administration, Organization, & Leadership) of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) chose two Prairie View A&M University education doctoral students for its Graduate Student Dialogic Forum. The Forum is a platform for students to share their research, receive constructive feedback from scholars and peers, and get a pulse of current and future directions of research in the field.

Graduate students were invited to submit research proposals around the theme “Public Scholarship to Educate Diverse Democracies” in one of Division A’s five areas: leadership, school organization and effects, school improvement, school contexts and communities, or leadership development.

Hundreds of applications were received and blindly reviewed by a group of scholars. Rebecca Faison will present her research: Commercialization of Research at Historically Black Colleges and Universities; and Brian Rowland will present his research: The Intersection of Emotional intelligence and Transformational Leadership with Young Elected Officials in the United States: An Exploratory Study.

“I am extremely proud of these scholars. Both successfully competed with students from around the country and both were chosen for this high honor. Their selection is a testament to the quality of their research and the quality of their instruction and preparation here in the Whitlowe R. Green College of Education,” said Dr. Lucian Yates, III.

The Forum will be held during the 2016 annual AERA conference in Washington, DC from April 8-12, 2016.
