Job Description
Assistant or Associate Professor, Medical and Cancer Genetics
Assistant or Associate Professor, Medical and Cancer Genetics, on the Clinician Scholar pathway dedicated to clinical service, research and academic pursuits

The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) are jointly recruiting a full-time faculty member specializing in medical genetics research and clinical care for oncology patients. This position will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level without tenure due to funding (WOT), commensurate with experience and qualifications in the Clinical Research Division of the Fred Hutch and the appropriate division at UW, based upon board certification(s) of successful applicant.

The position will involve participation in the clinical and instructional activities of the Clinical Research Division, the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Cancer Genetics and Prevention Clinic, and other Divisions, as applicable. Fred Hutch and UW faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. The selected candidate will participate in ongoing clinical and laboratory research programs related to cancer genetics and precision prevention. In addition, the candidate will have the opportunity and resources to develop their own clinical research programs.
The successful candidate will be appointed on the Clinician Scholar track and will have protected time for research, teaching, and mentorship. This position will be expected to serve on the cancer genetics clinical service, which includes multidisciplinary risk assessment and cancer risk reduction for complex and high-risk individuals.

The primary appointment will be in the Clinical Research Division of Fred Hutch with a joint appointment at University of Washington in the appropriate division. University of Washington assistant professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments and associate professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that both align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The position will report to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of the Clinical Research Division at Fred Hutch and the Division Head of the appropriate UW Division, according to applicants board certification.
