Project Engineer

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.

KBR is looking for a Project Engineer to provide technical and operational leadership for small projects or segments of larger, more complex initiatives. In this role, you will be involve defining and reviewing project scopes and requirements, ensuring alignment with schedule and budget, and coordinating across disciplines and stakeholders to maintain project integrity.

This position is based in KBRs Newark, DE office. A flexible work schedule is available, combining remote and in-office workdays required.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the development and review of project scopes, requirements, and deliverables.

  • Monitor project progress to ensure scope, schedule, and budget adherence.

  • Coordinate with resource managers and supervisors to secure necessary reviews and approvals.

  • Manage internal and external interfaces to eliminate scope gaps and overlaps.

  • Facilitate clear communication and workflow tracking across project teams and third parties.

  • Document interactions and decisions to maintain transparency and accountability.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the EPCM industry, including leadership of multi-discipline engineering teams.

  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex engineering interfaces.

  • Experience in FEL/FEED and EPCM project phases.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred.

  • Willingness to travel domestically.
