Visiting Assistant Professor of German Studies
Position Description:
The Department of German and Russian Studies at the College of Charleston invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of German Studies beginning August 16, 2026. We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated teacher-scholar with demonstrated excellence in teaching German as a foreign language. The area of specialization is open, and the successful candidate will complement and add to our existing course offerings, including interdisciplinary courses in English. Visiting appointments at the College of Charleston are made on an annual basis and renewable for up to 2 additional years based on performance and need.
The position is benefits-eligible and the salary is competitive. The teaching load is 4/4. Requirements for this position include a Ph.D. in the discipline by August 15, 2026 and near native proficiency in English and German.
