THE POSITION
The State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is currently recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician with exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to providing outstanding service to join our team.

LOCATION: Middletown, CT
SCHEDULE: Full-time, (37.5 hours weekly)

THE ROLE
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will have a crucial role in ensuring the flawless operation of our pharmacy department, allowing our patients to receive the highest level of care. Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Ordering supplies from bulk storage, restocking dispensing carts and delivering contents to patient care areas according to schedule;
Computing and compiling prescription charges;
Assisting pharmacist in reviewing written prescriptions to determine ingredients needed and ensure established procedures followed.
Assisting pharmacist in filling prescriptions from bulk stock;
Uses clean air center and sterile technique in filling and labeling syringes for delivery to patient care units.

Qualifications & Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of experience performing technical pharmacy duties.
NOTE: For state employees this experience is interpreted at the level of a Pharmacy Technician Trainee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED
Successful completion of a training program as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee may be substituted for the General Experience.
