Operating Room Nurse (RN)Location: Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD)Positions Available: 8 Target Start- July 2026 Citizenship Requirement- US Citizen or Greencard holder based on contract langauge. Join us in providing exceptional perioperative care to active-duty service members, veterans, and their families in one of the nations most advanced military medical facilities.Work Schedule:Services provided MondayFriday, between 06002300Standard 8hour shifts (30minute uncompensated lunch)Optional 10hour shifts across four weekdays (60minute uncompensated lunch)Schedules vary based on department needsNever more than 80 hours per twoweek periodMinimum Qualifications:Associate Degree in NursingGraduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program1 year of RN experience within the last 2 yearsUnrestricted, active RN licenseBLS certification required (ACLS and PALS preferred)Knowledge of perioperative standards and infection control practicesCore Responsibilities: Operating Room Nurses provide comprehensive perioperative care, ensuring safe and efficient surgical operations. Responsibilities include:Coordinate and deliver patient care in collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teamsSupport optimal outcomes related to clinical quality, safety, and cost-effectivenessEnsure full compliance with MTF policies, procedures, and standards of practiceConduct physical exams, obtain health histories, and provide patient educationAdminister medications, provide wound care, and deliver other hands-on nursing interventionsAssign patient care based on staff competencies and scope of practiceRecognize and respond rapidly to emergent patient conditionsCommunicate clearly with diverse teams, patients, and familiesArrange referrals and coordinate specialty careContribute to research efforts aimed at advancing patient outcomes Perioperative/OR-specific duties include:Circulating nursing care throughout surgical proceduresPre-, intra-, and postoperative patient assessmentCollaboration with surgical and anesthesia teamsMaintaining aseptic technique and infection control standardsEnsuring equipment readiness and compliance with AORN and Joint Commission standardsServing as team leader and providing relief charge coverage as needed What GDIT Can Offer You:Comprehensive and competitive benefits401K with company matchChallenging work that makes a real impact on the world around you Internal mobility team dedicated to helping you own your careerDiverse, highly collaborative teamsEncourages professional and personal development to position employees for success.
